About the Author:

Michael works as an independent publishers' representative. In his free time, he dances Argentine Tango and studies Renaissance martial arts.

Author's Note:

This is a trying-to-be-flash-fiction piece I wrote this summer in the Clarion West Write-a-Thon. I'd like to get it under 1000 words, but mostly I just want to make sure it *works*.
