About the Book:

On the eve of China's first moon landing, culinary student Wen Long gets expelled from school for rigging up a homemade deep fryer in his dorm room. So he is a little surprised when the Ministry of Secret Purposes enlists him to infiltrate the American space program. Wen seems totally unqualified to become a spy, but he speaks good enough English, is technically a U.S. citizen and has an uncle who lives down the block from NASA. His mission is to sabotage America's attempt to return to the moon. Equipped with a bogus aerospace degree he bullshits his way into landing a job as a safety engineer at the Sonny Bono Center for Rocket Performance. Also living with him in his uncle's cramped apartment is his handler, Xiumei. She's the beautiful mastermind behind the mission, posing as Wen's fiancée and haranguing him daily about his lack of "sabotage progress." Even as he finds himself falling in love with her, Wen suspects she is setting him up for a fall.
