About the Book:

Asherian never wanted to be a hero. His studies in alchemy were preparing him to be a respectable Citizen and businessman, not a warrior. Even the field trip itself held little appeal for him. The Wilds were a savage place where people were exiled when they broke the law. What else did he need to learn about it? He went along to see anti-gravity wards in action. He would have preferred quiet study or extra work on his projects. And then everything went horribly wrong. Now Asherian is alone in the Wilds. He's far from his home, cut off from the source of his magic. And what magic he does know might save his life, if it weren't for the creatures in the Wilds hunting him down to devour him alive. But the longer he manages to survive, the more he will discover about his world of Acradea and the dark truth that lays at the foundation of the Cities of Light.
