About the Book:
In the short time Amanda Patrone knows entrepreneur and polo enthusiast John Rouge, she rarely hears him refer to anybody by name. Sweetheart, Dude, Pal, Buddy. When Dionne introduces them, he calls her Honey.
When he and Dionne disappear somewhere over the Haliburton Highlands while taking his float plane to get some fish and chips, Amanda wants to worry about them. Really. But she has her hands full, trying to stay alive.
An invitation to a charity polo match exposes Amanda to a world she'd never known - fast horses, shallow women, lecherous ex-rock stars and a blindingly handsome polo player named Connor West.
Connor doesn't hide his attraction for Amanda, but John's daughter Lilian won't have it. She vies for Connor's attention while shunning the advances of Barry, a faded British ex-rock star.
When Connor's polo pony (and groom) are killed, Connor is the prime suspect. Investigating Detective Michele Degani thinks the case is wrapped up, but Amanda begs to differ.
About the Author:
The author of Bad Ice and The Toast Bitches, Sandra enjoys painting, horses, hockey and writing. She and her husband are almost empty-nesters north of Toronto.
As you can see, I've been busy with my draft. First chapters are modified, using many of your suggestions, and I have added new chapters.
I plan to consult a large animal vet for any plot points involving the horses.
Although this novel has been in the works for a while, it's still an early draft. I will take care of typos and repeated phrases during revisions. I just need to know if the plot is getting away from me. I let the characters take me wherever they want, and I'm just hanging on for the ride.
Thank you for your suggestions. Keep them coming!
